THINGS THAT IMPROVED MY NATURAL NAILS HEALTH.

Tuesday, August 10, 2021

Who des not love long beautiful nails, even more if they are natural? In my case I love acrylic nails, but I love even more my natural nails. I love to have them long, shiny, and strong: well cared, being one of my little pleasures. Therefore, I needed to share on my personal blogs things that I believe that influence on nails care, and things I have done that improved my nails health

Ø  HEALTH SUPPLEMENTS.

A few months ago, I decided to start with health supplements, particularly vitamin B, vitamin C, and iron, to improve my skin and hair health, but I started to notice that my nails were growing healthier and fast.

Surprisingly, all of them plays an important role on nails health, particularly vitamin B and Iron, contributing to improve their strength, and preventing breakage and splitting. With that, I ended discovering other health supplements that helps with nails like biotin, magnesium, protein, essentials fatty acids, and zinc.

Ø  NAIL POLISH REMOVER WITHOUT ACETONE.

I use to use nail polish remover with acetone, and I was drying and damaging my natural nails, without knowing it! Ironically, acetone is used to remove acrylic nails, dissolving all the products that have been used to create them, so imagine that on your natural nails! I still don’t understand why some of them claimed to have “moisturizing properties”, when is well recognized by nail technician that they hurt natural nails.

Basically, acetone can cause on your natural nails, cuticle, and skin around your nails go red, dry, and flaky. So, if you want to avoid a cracking, peeling, and bleeding cuticles and nails, stop using acetone on your natural nails!

Ø  NAIL OIL.

Nails, as the skin, need to be moisturized! I used to think that use oils on nails was unnecessary, and I was very wrong, deeply wrong. Using oil to moisturize my nails, before and after manicure, has smooth my nails surface. Nails absolutely absorbs products and need also to be treated with oils and serums.

In my case, I use it before my manicure to avoid any damage, and after to moisturize.

Ø  NAIL STRENGTHENER.

This is absolutely a MUST in every nail care routine! I used as a base coat, or alone. Find a good one can be difficult, it is daid by someone who has tried many of them, but I think that finally I found a good one: OPI NATURAL NAIL STRENGTHENER. Is one of the best I ever tried in my life, and I can see results. Even if I want to try more brands, this just turned in one of my basics!

Ø  GOOD QUALITY NAIL POLISHES (BYE-BYE DOLLAR STORE?).

Yes, I was that girl who believe that all nails polishes were the same, it does not matter the brand, until one day one of my dearest friends, addicted to nail polishes, showed me Flormar. High quality nail polishes, with affordable prices, and since that day, nothing was the same again!

They are more long-lasting, shiny, easy to remove, don’t hurt my natural nails, and they are easy to remove! They only thing I still buying at dollar store are glitter nail polishes, to use it as the last step, if I want a particular design, since I discover all glitter nail polish are the same, no matter the brand.

Ø  OTHER THINGS I DISCOVERED TO HAVE HEALTHIER NAILS.

Stop smocking! Nicotine leaves nails yellow.

Stop biting them! When you bite your nails, you are hurting your nail, cuticle, and surrounding skin

Do not use your nails to cut or open things, even if you have the strongest nails in the world: you can weaken or skin them.
