THE BEST LOW-COST MAKEUP POWDERS I HAVE TRIED THIS 2022.

Wednesday, November 30, 2022

When it comes to makeup, having a combination-oily skin can be a little bit tricky if you don't know which products your skin needs. From a correct skincare routine to the perfect makeup look that will stay with you all day long: everything matters. In my case, my skin type produces an excess of oil (sebum) in my T zone (forehead, nose, and chin), with normal to sometimes dry cheeks areas.

So, keeping that in mind, my needs are mainly focused on the sebum control production of my T zone, without caking it. By the way, I like very fine makeup powders that will not end giving me a cakey look at the end of the day, being the reason why I consider these three ones, the best low-cost makeup powder I had used this year.

Having used them for a while, they prove that we don’t need to break our bank accounts to look flawless, and have good quality products. They are perfect for setting makeup, baking, and controlling the sebum, lasting all day long.

HD STUDIO PHOTOGÉNIQUE STUDIO, by NYX.

With this makeup powder, I broke my taboo related to white-transparent face powders, made to be suitable for any skin color. Usually, this type of product cause flashbacks, and since I won’t know if I’m going to end up taking a flash photo at the end of the day, I tend to use makeup powders that suit my skin color.

Surprisingly, the HD Photogénique Studio sets my makeup without leaving any white cast, not producing any flashbacks.

PROS: smooth, poreless, no flashback, and good sebum control.

CONS: small size (only 6g).

BANANA DREAMS LOOSE POWDER, by W7.

Since I watched Makeup by Mario, doing Kim Kardashian makeup using yellow powder from Ben Nye, I knew that I will need to find an option here in Spain, so I took my time, I made my research, and I ended up finding the Banana Dreams Loose Powders by W7.

They are perfect to illuminate the center of the face, leaving a very smooth finish, but I particularly love them to set my under-eye area.

PROS: smooth, poreless, no flashback, strong sebum control, perfect for baking, and pore blurring.

CONS: none.

FACE FORM BAKING & SETTING POWDER, by SLEEK MAKEUP.

One of my latest discoveries and I love it! Here in Spain, it can be very hard to find a nice and low-cost setting powder for my skin color, but this one goes further having very good qualities like not having a red subtone (I have cold subtone: NW43), and being really translucent, lasting all the day without any problem.

PROS: good sebum control, not cakey finish, very fine powder.

CONS: none.

CHRISTMAS GIFT IDEAS FOR THE BEAUTY LOVER NEAR YOU!

Tuesday, December 1, 2020

Yes! We can smell it in the air: is Christmas time! A time to enjoy with family and friends, and also to gift nice things to people that we love. This is why if you have a beauty lover near you to make he/she happy at this time of the year, continue reading!

As always, I wanted to create ideas for all pockets, so I created multiple and good quality options with different brands, and prices, taking the photographs as a reference.

PERFUME.

Actually, I never ever meet a person who does not love fragrances, never! Maybe the personal tastes can be different (like people that love strong fragrances, or soft fragrances, etc). In my case, I never gift strong fragrances, I always go for lightweight and long-lasting aromas: in woman case, I prefer floral or oriental fragrances; in man cases: I always go for fresh, clean, citric or sea breeze long-lasting fragrances.

EYESHADOW PALETTE.

If you don´t know he or her personality and tastes, a secure idea is go for a neutral palette, that combines mattes and shimmers. My favorites ones are: Blushed nudes and The Nudes by Maybelline, Naked 3 by Urban Decay, Lolita by KVD, All night long by Sleek, and Chocolate Smores by I hearth Revolution.

BLUSHES.

Always go for satin blushes! why? They suits in everybody, even in oily skin people. They give life to cheekbones, not shiny but not matt, velvet colors always. In the other hand, they don´t accentuate wrinkles, creating a smooth velvety look. My favorites ones are by Sleek.

LIPSTICK.

Classic red, chic timeless mauve, and bold fuchsia lip color. Even if this last lip color is more for spring and summer time, it suits perfect in winter if you choose one with blue undertone. My color guide are: Pure red and Eucaliptus by NYX; Milano red long-lasting 11 by Deborah Milano; Serafine by Anastasia Beverly Hills; and Exotic by NYX.

FACE POWDERS.

To gift this, you need to know the skin type of that person. As I have a combination to oily skin, my favorites face powders are: Mineral face powder and HD studio photogenic by NYX; Multitasker face powder by Milani; Blot face powder by MAC.
