The worst makeup primer I have ever tried! By Loreal Paris.

Monday, May 9, 2022

It has been a few months since I decided to try other products of Loreal, especially the makeup line, having falling in love recently with two of their makeup products, along with another two skincare products, made me decide to buy one of its new makeup primers, choosing one of the newest Infallible line products: The Infallible Super Grip Primer, for combination-to-oily skin.

If you have been reading my blog post for a while, then you will know that I have sensitive combination-to-oily skin on my face, and according to the indications, this makeup primer will help me to control the sebum production of my T zone and improve the durability of my makeup foundation by making it adhere better (being the reason for its slightly sticky finish), however, all ended up in a really bad way because no matter how I used the product, the result was always horrible.

I used it with moisturizer, without moisturizer, with SPF, without SPF… and the results were always the same: the product detaches from the skin as far I started to apply my makeup foundation, like if you were peeling off a face mask.

Usually, when you apply a makeup primer, the product creates an invisible veil to help the makeup foundation stay longer, by controlling sebum production, skin dryness, and improving makeup application and adherence. But in this case, the case was absolutely different, because the Loreal makeup primer was like a peel-off face mask, that didn’t allow a correct application of makeup foundation.

I truly believe that the mistake with this product is in the ingredient list because Loreal used Xanthan Gum, which can be a problematic ingredient, and in this case, maybe highly unnecessary, but observing the concept of the product, the purpose of its use is understandable: create a highly adherent surface, to obtain a longer-lasting makeup finish.

But, even if is the worst makeup primer I ever tried in my life until this day, Loreal still has some nice products that I love, for example, some of its skincare products, or its Infallible Smoothing Makeup Primer (one of my beloved makeup primer).

APRIL TO MAY, face products that actually I'm loving!

Monday, May 3, 2021

What a long time since I wrote my last post! A lot of things have been happening, and a lot of new stuff is coming, and one of them is new products to review. If you ever have read one of my posts or visited my social media accounts, in particular my Instagram, yo maybe can guess that one of my passions are makeup and skincare

So, if you want to know what beauty products I´m loving actually, please continue reading this post!

FACE CLEANSER.

First things first, so let's start with the face cleanser, did you say hydrating and effective face cleanser? YES! For the second time in a row, I just bought AGAIN, the Hydrating Cleanser by CeraVe, and what can I say? That is one of the best face cleansers since I tried the face foam cleanser by The Saem, and with that: all the hype around this brand developed by dermatologist, that surprisingly  is pretty affordable, with nice ingredients for the skin: is TRUE!

  • It cleanses softly and deeply.

  • It does not dry out the skin.

  • The main ingredients are ceramides and hyaluronic acid

  • It works perfectly on sensitive skin.

  • Is pretty affordable.

  • Nice packaging.

I started with the small size (236ml), and now I’m with the medium size (473ml).....now I want to buy the biggest size (1000ml)...this face cleanser just turned into one of my basic skincare products.

FACE TONER.

If I just remember the fact that at first I wanted to buy the one by Lancome, but the ingredient list makes me want to try this one...I just can’t believe that. This revitalizing face toner by Kueshi is just perfect: moisturizing, conditioning, and balancing

Since the one I tried by Yves Rocher (hydrating face toner), my favorite toners were always the ones by asian brands like The Skin House, or Tony Moly. So it was incredible to discover a new french brand, soo affordable (even more than Yves Rocher), with such a nice ingredient list, that it works amazing.

  • It refreshes, revitalizes, and plump the skin.

  • Nice ingredient list, with main ingredients like: Aloe Vera, Camomile, and Calendula

  • Suitable for sensitive skin.

  • Moisturizing and calming.

  • Nice smell.

  • Pretty affordable.

FACE SERUM.

For the ingredient list at first I was pretty exceptical, but I always wanted to try a serum by L'oreal, so I decided to try the Revitalift one! Let’s be clear, I don't have wrinkles or fine lines, but before I started using this serum, my skin had a little bit of texture, with some blemishes,  and was pretty dull, so based on those points, I think that this serum really works.

This face serum is normally recommended for people around 35 years old, but REMEMBER, you can be in your twenties, and have the skin necessities of a woman with 80 years old.

To me, the most surprising fact was that the second ingredient was Alcohol Denat, and the product is soo moisturizing, and does not hurt the skin, or have a strong smell. I have sensitive and combination to oily skin, and what this serum did to my skin was: refine the texture of my skin, moisturize, balance, bright, and unify my skin tone.

  • It moisturizes, and treats the skin.

  • Nice main ingredients: pro-retinol, adenosine, and fibrelastyl

  • Even if the second ingredient is Alcohol Denat, it does not hurt the skin.

  • It helps to refine the skin texture.

  • It brightens and evens the skin.

FACE OIL.

This is really leaving the main course for last: I don’t know exactly where to start explaining my happiness with the product.  Everybody knows that if you have a combination to oily skin type, or simply oily skin, you only can use a few types of face oils. In my case, when I decide to use oils, my favorites are jojoba oil, tea tree oil, or rosehip oil. But this little guy just broke all my mental barriers.

Everybody talks about japanese or korean beauty products, but what about chinese beauty products, Asia is so big to always focus in the same areas, and since I had a nice experience using brands like Bioaqua, Lanbena, and Laikou, why not try another brand that is getting a lot of fame in the market, and is already very famous in its country of origin: China.

Breylee Skin Firming Lifting Oil, is a light combination of natural oils that is absorbed rapidly in the skin, moisturizing, balancing, and not leaving a greasy sensation. I don’t actually know how the brand laboratory did this at such a good price, but it works! Is one of the best face oils that I ever tried in my life.

Since I bought it, I don’t use another face moisturizer, just my face serum and this face oil. I don't even use a makeup primer, because I don't need it! And guess what? The brand is CRUELTY FREE!

To me, this is one of my favorite beauty discoveries. I have been using it along with the Loreal Revitalift face serum, and it is just the perfect combination. By the way, the makeup application after using it, is perfect: smooth and long lasting.

  • Skin conditioner

  • Moisturizing, and balancing.

  • Fast absorption.

  • Suitable for sensitive, and oily skin.

  • Nice makeup primer.

FINAL THOUGHTS!

***So, at the moment, this is everything! This time, I don’t have any bad words for any products, or mixed feelings, all of these products have been doing a good job in my skin, and I hope that my personal experience and opinion about them can help you out to find or discover new products to try.***
