WHY I LOVE NATURAL OILS, PART 1! (NON-ESSENTIALS OILS)

Sunday, November 29, 2020

Since I discovered pure seed oils and their benefits, I just can´t stop using them. I first started with castor oil for my hair, noticing such a good results like hair growth, better elasticity, and shine; and then? I tried almond oil for my body, and it was one of the best things I ever did for my skin, ending with a healthy glowy skin, reducing drastically my little imperfections, unifying my skin tone.

From my face to my body, my skin is pretty different: in my face, I have sensitive combination to oily skin; and in my body, I have dry-sensitive skin. So the necessities really changes, and that, plus the factor that the skin face is more delicate than the body skin, in the same way, scalp skin is more sensitive than face skin: IS LOGIC THAT WE CAN´T TREAT THEM IN THE SAME WAY. Why I know this? Because in September 2020, I decide to shave my entire hair, and trust me, the scalp skin in one of the most sensitive part of our body.

Using natural oils to treat my skin and hair, and as a skincare enthusiast, I notice that one thing to keep in mind is how every oil works and your body/hair necessities, because even if they can have similar properties, the don´t have the same texture, and they don´t work in the same way, for example: castor oil is rich in fatty acids, that make it more heavy, so is perfect for my extra-dry hair and scalp, to seal and treat my hair. Knowing all this factors, another thing we must keep in mind is that oils are occlusives, that means that they act like a barrier between the skin/hair and the environment, acting as a protector, preventing the evaporation of hydration.

I actually have been using rose hip oil for my face, jojoba oil for my hair, and a natural infused face  oil serum, as a body treatment mixed with my body milk. Surprisingly rose hip oil works incredible in my face, moisturizing, conditioning, and treating dark spots. It really penetrates in the skin, not leaving a greasy sensation at all.

In the other hand, I discover that jojoba oil works better for my hair as a light moisturizer, but the fact that really surprised me was the slight natural sweet aroma that it have. I also tried it in my face, but doesn´t really work for me in that way.

Last but not least, the natural infused face oil serum that I used as a body serum because my face couldn´t tolerate all those oils together in one formulation. It really leave the skin soft, is fast absorbed by the skin, and it does not leave a greasy residues. The way I used it was mixing it with my body lotion, and it really works!

ALL TERRAIN!

In the other hand, one of my favorites facts of natural oils is how versatile they can be! For example, the multiple uses of extra virgin coconut oil: to bake, as a makeup remover , as a body/face/hair conditioner, and to clean teeth. Another very famous all terrain natural oil is olive oil, particularly recommended for extra-dry skin.
