NACOMI TO THE TEST: NACOMI COSMETICS REVIEW.

Wednesday, April 3, 2024

The Swedish skincare brand, has definitely come to democratize (even more) the european skincare industry, through its formulas and ingredients. After having tested for months some of their products, I can confirm that they absolutely worth the hype. Cute and simple packaging, from basic skincare ingredients, like hyaluronic acid, or ceramides, Nacomi creates products focused on offering effectives formulas, with attractives textures, that makes the skincare routine more pleasant.

CLAY FACE MASKS.

Comes in powder, which means that they need to be activated by water, face oil, or the  face mask activator by the same brand. I personally prefer to use water or face toner, to observe how they really work, and the level of effectiveness.

  • Black clay mask.

It detoxify the skin, absorbing all the skin impurities, leaving a feeling of freshness.

  • Green clay mask.

Indicated to treat skin with imperfections, it purifies, balance, calms, and illuminates the skin.

  • Algae mask.

Indicated for skins with acne, is a peel-off mask formulated with marine algae and tea tree oil, ended being too aggressive for my skin type (sensitive combination to oily), making my entire skin itch and burn.

FACE SERUMS.

Basic key ingredients, effective formula, with a delightful texture that easily absorbs into the skin. However, the salicylic acid, and the vitamin C face serum, felt incomplete to me, being my favorites ones the hyaluronic acid face serum, and the vitamin E face serum.

  • Vitamin E face serum.

My first time using a face oil serum, and the first thing I learned was to moderate the amount of product to avoid waste. Easily absorbed by the skin, after a week of use, improves skin texture and appearance, having a better performance in combination with the hyaluronic acid face serum.

  • Hyaluronic acid face serum.

It has become one of my favorites low-cost hyaluronic acid face serum, for the texture and effectiveness. It deeply moisturize and softens the skin, leaving a dewy and healthy skin use by use, especially in combination with the vitamin E face serum.

  • Ceramides face serum.

Honestly, I was expecting more from a ceramides face serum, a light, but more enveloping and emollient formula, instead of a slightly moisturizing one.

  • Salicylic acid face serum.

Difficult to use, difficult to understand, and difficult to love, the 3 D’s. Even if it is a non-irritating formula, its color (black) and texture difficult its use, even if it slightly contribute to balance the skin, I personally found it uncomfortable to use, since it leaves black streaks on the skin.

Nowadays, if I have to recommend any low-cost effective salicylic acid face serum, is the one by The Conscious.

  • Vitamin C face serum.

Nice texture, with a non-effective formula. Being formulated in the beginning with a 15% of vitamin C, broken down in 10% ascorbic acid, sodium ascorbyl phosphate 3%, ascorbyl glucoside 2%, it supposed to be a non-irritating, and effective formula, that helps to even the skin tone, by clearing dark spots. But, after a few weeks of use, it ended up being just a conditioning and moisturizer serum.

A better low-cost option, is the JUST 20% Vitamin C face serum by Revox, formulated with ascorbic acid, and green tea, that even the skin tone, by reducing skin imperfections, targeting inflammation, and improving the skin texture.

FACE MOISTURIZERS.

Perfect formula, good ingredients, and nice texture, definitely moisturizers are the strongest point of Nacomi. No favorites in this category, since both are incredibly good.

  • Protein Patch face cream for atopic skin.

Very light, and emollient formula, it calms, moisturize, and softens the skin.

  • Shea butter face moisturizer +50.

I used it as the last step in my night skincare routine. Still lightweight, but with a more rich formula, being one of its main ingredients shea butter, skincare ingredient known for its highly restorative properties

GARNIER VS EVOLUDERM: THE BEST LOW-COST MICELLAR WATERS FOR SENSITIVE SKIN IN THE SKINCARE MARKET? UNDER 2EUR! PART 1.

Wednesday, August 9, 2023

It have been a few months since I started to test in depth this four micellar waters, and I have a few things to say as a combination to oily sensitive skin women.

As it is well know that Garnier has one of the most famous micellar waters lines in the world, however, after the undeniable success of its first micellar water (the one with the pink cap), and after having released a wide variety of micellar waters whose purpose is to adapt to consummers necessities, is time to put their range for sensitive skin to the test, contrasting them with some low-cost unknown brands that may surprise by how nice they can work, because even if Garnier micellar waters are inexpensinves, there some incredible options for less than 2EUR, can you believe it?

GARNIER SKIN ACTIVE MICELLAR WATER FOR SENSITIVES EYES AND SKIN (BLUE CAP) VS EVOLUDERM MICELLAR WATER FOR REACTIVE SKIN WITH REDNESS.

The one by Garnier, claims to eliminate waterproof makeup, calming the skin at the same time, without leaving any greassy residue, being suitable to use it on eyes (the face most sensitive area), having as one of the main ingredient cornflower water, that hepls to calm and aliviate the skin.

On the other hand, the one by Evoluderm, is particularly indicated for one of the most controversial types of sensitive skin: reactive with redness. Formulated without alcohol, it claims to remove in just one gesture makeup and impurities. The secret? Its formula enriched with Aloe Vera extract, that helps to calm the skin, and promotes wound healing.

MY EXPERIENCE.

Both micellar waters remove the makeup perfectly. In my case, four cotton pads were enough to remove all the makeup and impurities from my face, not leaving any trace: no watery eyes, no irritated skin, no dry lips, with either product!

The only thing that difference Garnier micellar water from the one by Evoluderm, is how the first one removes more easily waterproof and long lasting makeup (as exactly claims). But, instead of that, both are really good and affordable options for sensitive skin types.

GARNIER SKIN ACTIVE MICELLAR WATER FOR DRY AND SENSITIVE (PINK CAP) VS EVOLUDERM MICELLAR WATER FOR DRY AND SENSITIVE SKIN.

Both created for dry and sensitive skin, with the difference that the one by Evoluderm is formulated without alcohol with a 93% natural origin ingredients, promising to remove the makeup in just one gesture. While the one by Garnier claims to cleanse, hydrate, and remove makeup confortly, all in one, combined with moisturizing milk, in an hipollergenic and perfumeless formula.

MY EXPERIENCE.

Both of them are really effective on sensitive skin: no watery eyes, no skin irritations, and no dry lips. To me, they perform exactly the same, with the only fact that the one by Garnier seems like a watery cleansing milk (a meaningless variation of something that already exist: pure marketing).

In general, both brands have really nice micellar waters, but the most incredible fact is how for less than 2EUR (250ml), a brand can create such a good quality product for sensitive skin. By the way, another interesting fact, is how Garnier brake with the alcohol taboo in the skincare industry, coming to create hypoallergenic skincare products, with confortable formulas.

My holy grails low-cost face scrub: sensitive skin.

Wednesday, October 20, 2021

Even in 2021, I still love enzymatic and physical face scrubsusing as a part of my skincare routine, twice a week. Why? Because they deeply clean the skin, leaving it pure and soft, without drying it out (if you choose wisely) … I don’t even remember the last time I had comedones or large pores on my face, and I’m so happy!

First, I have combination to oily sensitive skin, therefore I need gentle effective products, that help me reach and maintain a healthy-glowy skin from outside, and this face scrubs have been helping me a lot, being an important part of my skin recovery process (blemishes – uneven skin tone – dry patches – little pimples).

MIRACULUM, micro-exfoliating face wash scrub.

When I started using it, I didn’t like it at all, but since it was the only face scrub I had at that moment, I decided to give it an opportunity, to then start to fall in love with it. What I really love about this product is how it dissolves all the impurities from the skin, without drying it, even plumping it.

The key ingredients? A lot of hyaluronic acid forms, rice powder, and AHAs, as a part of an incredible formula to removes all the dead skin cells from the face in an effortless way.

  • Hyaluronic acid: helps the skin to retain water, increasing the levels of moisture.
  • Rice powder: anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, sun damage reducer, and illuminating.
  • AHAs: formulated as a gentle skin exfoliator to remove all the impurities from sensitive skin types, anti-inflammatory.

IMPORTANT FACT: this product can be used only once a day, or twice a week, to avoid chemical burns (based on my own experience). Don’t abuse or you get burn!

BIO GLOW, 100% natural face scrub for sensitive skin & normal skin

Both are the gentlest face scrub that I have tried (actually). Formulated with natural ingredients that have anti-inflammatory, purifying, conditioning, illuminating, and moisturizing properties (calendula, chamomile, aloe vera, and bamboo).

It smells very good, and deeply removes the impurities from skin without rushing, harm, or dry the skin. To me is a 360º experience!

Key ingredients? Calendula, chamomile, aloe vera, bamboo, lactic acid, cocos nuscifera shell powder, Sodium Cocoyl Apple aminoacids.

  • Calendula: antifungal, antibacterial, and anti-inflammatory.
  • Chamomile: antioxidant, with skin renewal properties.
  • Aloe Vera: anti-inflammatory, moisturizing, and conditioning.
  • Bamboo: illuminating and helps the skin with the collagen production.
  • Lactic Acid: eliminates the accumulation of dead skin cells.
  • Cocos Nuscifera Shell Powder: one of the gentlest skin exfoliator, removing all the dead skin cells without micro-cutting the skin.
  • Sodium Cocoyl Apple aminoacids: gentle deep cleanser.

Actually, my favorite face moisturizer by L'oreal: Revitalift Laser, night face moisturizer.

Wednesday, July 7, 2021

Let's be clear from the beginning, to me, actually, the best night moisturizer from L'oreal is the Revitalift Laser, for its ingredient list, texture, and effectiveness. How I ended up choosing it? I remember that I just wanted a rich moisturizer for my night skincare routine, to help me with my skin texture, blemishes, fine lines, and moisture, so I found it! By the way, I really wanted to try new things from L’oreal, a brand that I used to love in depth, but had been a long time since I used their products.

One thing I started to notice looking the ingredient list of the L’oreal face moisturizers, is that the majority of them feels incomplete, full of ingredients that are meaningless, or not so good for the skin, so researching their moisturizers, and by default, only three of them convinced me: Revitalift Laser (night moisturizer), Age Perfect/Golden Age (day moisturizer), and Age Perfect Hydrating (day moisturizer)...so for my nighttime skincare routine, I decided to choose the first one.

My favorite ingredients from the Revitalift Laser are: Centella Asiatica, Rice protein, Dimethicone, Jojoba seed oil, Castor oil, Cetyl Alcohol, and Propylene Glycol. This one, in combination with the other ingredients, gets a dense, rich, and easily absorbed cream, that leaves the skin full of youth, like you've been injected with a facial rejuvenator, fun fact? It doesn’t leave a greasy sensation.

  • Centella Asiatica: one of the most powerful antioxidants, rich in aminoacids, working as a protecting barrier, with repairing properties. Non comedogenic.

  • Rice Protein: nourishes, stimulates collagen production, tightens pores, reduces hyperpigmentation, treats acne and eczema. Non comedogenic.

  • Dimethicone: minimize water loss by creating a barrier, improving the skin flexibility and smoothness. Non comedogenic.

  • Jojoba seed oil: balances sebum production, reduces wrinkles and scars, lightweight oil, antibacterial, rich in antioxidants, hypoallergenic, soothes: sunburns, eczema, acne, psoriasis, and dry skin.

  • Castor oil: anti-inflammatory, calms and soothes the skin, antibacterial, and fights acne.

  • Cetyl Alcohol: emollient, and retains hydration. Non comedogenic.

  • Propylene Glycol: emollient, smooth and softens the skin. Non comedogenic.

  • Salicylic Acid: reduce sebum secretion, breaks down pimples and comedones, unclog pores, reduce redness, and removes dead skin cells.

Surprisingly it is an acne friendly product! Since it doesn’t clog pores, and has ingredients that help fight H-pylori. So even if luckily, I don’t have acne, absolutely it is a plus!

On the other hand it has Pro-Xylene, which is a sugar molecule derived from the beech wood tree, that stimulates the production of proteoglycans, that hydrate the skin in depth, improving the formation of collagen fibers, and the epidermal structure

It takes weeks to start noticing real signs, in my case it helps me a lot with my blemishes, unifying my skin, and promoting cell renovation. You need to be consistent, to see real results, but it really works! The first thing I noticed when I started using it was a more moisturized and fuller skin, a real rich skin.
