A LITTLE BIT OF MAKEUP I HAVE BEEN USING: REVIEW.

Monday, May 20, 2024

Everybody around me talking about Catrice, but I’m falling in love again with Essence, and discovering some Revolution Beauty hidden gems!

ESSENCE.

This low-cost makeup brand have been creating some interesting products that worth the hype, and one of them is their “Camouflage+” matt concealer, which claims to be waterproof, and high coverage. Having using it for almost two months and I can tell why is so famous: is matt, lightweight, medium coverage, does not mark expression lines, and for the price it have a pretty decent performance through the day… But is not waterproof!!! and is not the best affordable option to cover any tattoo, because it does not have as much coverage, and the use of excess product makes the skin look rough (being the reason why I only recommend a maximum 2 well-blended layers for each eye, before sealing the product).

On the other hand, the eye brow pencil, is a must, but the only thing I didn't like is the size, I prefer bigger size ones. Easy to apply, correct color with correct undertone, and long-lasting.

REVOLUTION BEAUTY (MAKEUP REVOLUTION).

Nobody can deny the amazing changes that Makeup Revolution have been doing since a few years ago, improving the quality of their products, creating new lines, etc. So I decided to try another makeup foundation from them, “The Super Matte” that claims to be 2 in 1: foundation + concealer

Shortly, this makeup foundation has ended being one of my favorites low-cost makeup foundations: is healthy matt, stays all  day on the skin, controls sebum production, and it blends very well, without leaving a mask effect. The only thing I don’t like about this product? Is not transfer-proof.

AVON.

It still amazes me that even though it is such a famous brand, almost no one talks about it, so I think I will continue with their concealer stick. Easy to carry, easy to use, creamy, medium coverage (not buildable), perfect to make fast retouches, but not made to be an all-terrain concealer, or a decent one that can last at least 6 to 7 hours without any retouch.

NACOMI TO THE TEST: NACOMI COSMETICS REVIEW.

Wednesday, April 3, 2024

The Swedish skincare brand, has definitely come to democratize (even more) the european skincare industry, through its formulas and ingredients. After having tested for months some of their products, I can confirm that they absolutely worth the hype. Cute and simple packaging, from basic skincare ingredients, like hyaluronic acid, or ceramides, Nacomi creates products focused on offering effectives formulas, with attractives textures, that makes the skincare routine more pleasant.

CLAY FACE MASKS.

Comes in powder, which means that they need to be activated by water, face oil, or the  face mask activator by the same brand. I personally prefer to use water or face toner, to observe how they really work, and the level of effectiveness.

  • Black clay mask.

It detoxify the skin, absorbing all the skin impurities, leaving a feeling of freshness.

  • Green clay mask.

Indicated to treat skin with imperfections, it purifies, balance, calms, and illuminates the skin.

  • Algae mask.

Indicated for skins with acne, is a peel-off mask formulated with marine algae and tea tree oil, ended being too aggressive for my skin type (sensitive combination to oily), making my entire skin itch and burn.

FACE SERUMS.

Basic key ingredients, effective formula, with a delightful texture that easily absorbs into the skin. However, the salicylic acid, and the vitamin C face serum, felt incomplete to me, being my favorites ones the hyaluronic acid face serum, and the vitamin E face serum.

  • Vitamin E face serum.

My first time using a face oil serum, and the first thing I learned was to moderate the amount of product to avoid waste. Easily absorbed by the skin, after a week of use, improves skin texture and appearance, having a better performance in combination with the hyaluronic acid face serum.

  • Hyaluronic acid face serum.

It has become one of my favorites low-cost hyaluronic acid face serum, for the texture and effectiveness. It deeply moisturize and softens the skin, leaving a dewy and healthy skin use by use, especially in combination with the vitamin E face serum.

  • Ceramides face serum.

Honestly, I was expecting more from a ceramides face serum, a light, but more enveloping and emollient formula, instead of a slightly moisturizing one.

  • Salicylic acid face serum.

Difficult to use, difficult to understand, and difficult to love, the 3 D’s. Even if it is a non-irritating formula, its color (black) and texture difficult its use, even if it slightly contribute to balance the skin, I personally found it uncomfortable to use, since it leaves black streaks on the skin.

Nowadays, if I have to recommend any low-cost effective salicylic acid face serum, is the one by The Conscious.

  • Vitamin C face serum.

Nice texture, with a non-effective formula. Being formulated in the beginning with a 15% of vitamin C, broken down in 10% ascorbic acid, sodium ascorbyl phosphate 3%, ascorbyl glucoside 2%, it supposed to be a non-irritating, and effective formula, that helps to even the skin tone, by clearing dark spots. But, after a few weeks of use, it ended up being just a conditioning and moisturizer serum.

A better low-cost option, is the JUST 20% Vitamin C face serum by Revox, formulated with ascorbic acid, and green tea, that even the skin tone, by reducing skin imperfections, targeting inflammation, and improving the skin texture.

FACE MOISTURIZERS.

Perfect formula, good ingredients, and nice texture, definitely moisturizers are the strongest point of Nacomi. No favorites in this category, since both are incredibly good.

  • Protein Patch face cream for atopic skin.

Very light, and emollient formula, it calms, moisturize, and softens the skin.

  • Shea butter face moisturizer +50.

I used it as the last step in my night skincare routine. Still lightweight, but with a more rich formula, being one of its main ingredients shea butter, skincare ingredient known for its highly restorative properties

FIRST SKINCARE REVIEW OF THE YEAR: WELCOME 2024!

Wednesday, January 3, 2024

Last year was really amazing, so many Good things happened, being one of them, the opportunity to try a few interesting skincare and makeup products, so Let’s start!

FACE.

BEAUSTA Cica recipe face foam cleanser, & GARNIER ACTIVE micellar water for sensitive eyes and skin.

Having sensitive combination to oily skin type, every step matters to avoid any side effects. This is why Cica and Cornflower water, are two perfect main ingredients to calm, and refresh my skin. Used to use richer formulas, like the ones by The Saem, this one, feels incomplete, even if technically have some nice ingredients, and a soft formula.

On the other side, the micellar water for sensitive eyes and skin, to me is one of the best ones from Garnier. It easily remove all the impurities and makeup, even the waterproof ones, without dehydrating my skin, or causing any side effects.

FRUDIA enzymatic peeling gel, & HOLIKA-HOLIKA Soda Pore Cleansing.

Even if one of my favorites face scrub are from a western brand, the korean ones, are complete different, with a more advanced formulas, that are even suitable for sensitive skin, braking once againg with the topic that face scrubs can't be used on sensitive skin. The enzymatic peeling gel by Frudia, removes softly in one step all the dead skin cells, with the drawback of not being able to be used twice at the same moment, therefore everything need to be done in one step, thoroughly massaging the entire face.

By the way, the one by Holika-Holika, really surprised me for its main ingredient (baking soda), and the product formula. It gentle removes all the impurities, being able to be used again at the same time, in high contrast with the one by Frudia. The texture feels like microbubbles penetrating deep into the pores, removing all the dirtiness, leaving the skin soft and velvety.

TONY MOLY  Wonder Tea Tree Pore Fresh Toner.

Since the green panda face moisturizer, indicated for combination to oily skin (one of my all time favorite moisturizers), this face toner is the second product I try from this brand.

Formulated with ingredients that are specially indicated for combination to oily skin, like Tea tree and green tea, that contributes to even the skin tone, sebum regulation, helping at the same time to reduce pimples, making it suitable for people with acne prone skin.

The main purpose of this face toner is to refresh, balance, and purify the skin, penetrating deep into the pores, leaving the skin prepared for the next step. However, to me, is not one of the best face toners in the market, but a really good one, to keep as a vanity backgroung, since it really helps to regulate progressively the sebum production, softening the skin texture the same time.

EYES.

VITAMIN TREE & ORJENA eye moisturizers.

After having watched so many skincare videos, and read a few blog post about how important can be to use an specific moisturizer to the skin of the eye area, for being a more sensitive zone, that needs a more lightweight, and fast absorbing moisturizer, that helps to to prevent, and treat fine lines and wrinklesI ended up trying this two ones, to start including them in my routine.

Both of them are from Korean skincare brands, being Orjena one of my favorites low cost Korean beauty brands, for their face serums, sheet mask, and enzymatic peeling gel.

The one from The Vitamin Tree, whose main ingredient is Niacinamide, was definitely a game changer: it decongest, moisturize, softens, and refresh the skin of the eye area, leaving a slight sensation of freshness. On the other side, the Orjena eye cream, which have more main ingredients like hydrolyzed collagen, niacinamide, and marine algae, it felt more like a basic lightweight moisturizer.

Must try nail polish brands (collaboration with @SunnyRaeNails).

Thursday, May 12, 2022

It has been a while since I wanted to write another post related to nails, particularly about my favorite cruelty-free nail polishes, but this time in collaboration with another YouTuber/micro-blogger whose name is Sunny Rae Nails, one of my favorite nail tweeters right now, with beautiful long natural nails, who will also share her favorite nail polish brands.

Sunny's social media: Twitter & Youtube.

ME: Wakeup Cosmetics & Flormar.

Wakeup Cosmetics has really beautiful green tones, being my beloved one “Papagalo”, which is a very beautiful bright tropical green. The only fact that I don’t like about this nail polish is that I need three coats for a complete nail cover, even if it is worth it in the end.

By the way, Flormar to me is one of the best low-cost nail polishes, for being long-lasting, not easy to crease, and shiny. I remember discovering this brand thanks to my friend Ana (Nana), who has a severe addiction to nail polish, since then I fell in love with the quality of the nail polishes, becoming a benchmark for me.

Furthermore, Flormar has infinite lines of nail polish, from mattes to gel finish.

SUNNY: Zoya & China Glaze.

One of my favorite polishes that can be purchased at a certain retailer is Zoya. It has a wide range of options that are not typically available in-store, including shimmer, glitter, multi-crome, and more! And the best part of all is that Zoya also passes my weekly test to see how much polish may chip after a week of wear.

By the way, China Glaze was one of my favorite nail polishes, with so many beautiful colors, it applies extremely well, being available in almost all stores in the United States, which made it convenient to purchase when I lived there.

ME: O.P.I & Essie.

Both have one of the best high-quality formulas, colors, and durability I have ever tried, particularly O.P.I, whose shade “Russian Navy” has stolen my heart, with all those lovely tones mixed into the deep purple, reflecting in the light.

On the other side, Essie nail polishes feel like a beautiful vinyl wrap, that gives color and protection to the nail.

With these nail polishes, I only needed one coat to entirely cover the nail, but as always, twice is better!

SUNNY: Live Love Polish (Mooncat) & Holo Taco.

Live Love Polish was my favorite indie brand for years! I absolutely love the creativity in the colors and nail polish formulas. This brand has never ever disappointed me by swatching their polishes, but the only fact that I don’t like is that it does not pass my weekly chipping test: beautiful but not long-lasting.

By the way, Holo Taco leads the list of favorites, loved by many not only for its quality but because of the creator: CristineRotenberg (Youtuber). Holo Taco users have already built a trust with Cristine for the kindness and honesty she shows on her YouTube videos. As a frequent Holo Taco user, I can say that this is the best nail polish I ever used, why? I can wear it for over a week, and it will still not have a single chip, turning it into the best nail polish brand I ever tried, being perfect for nail art too.
