ENDING APRIL WITH AVON COSMETICS.

Thursday, April 28, 2022

It has been a while since I wanted to start writing about beauty brands like Avon, Oriflame, or Artistry. They are beauty brands like any other but characterized by the way their products are sold: catalog sales.

I have been seeing Avon products in my house since I was a child, my mother has always bought them, from family sizes body showers and body milk to beautiful lipsticks, and delicious perfumes. Their products have become a classic in our house, products that we can always turn to, some seasons more than others.

Since my teenage days, my favorite products from Avon have been their mascara, lipsticks, perfumes, and shower gels, so I decided to start from here, sharing my opinion about their products. My only issue with the brand is related to their facial skincare lines, but since Avon has been launching a lot of new products, and seems like they have been improving their formulas and ingredients lists, makes me want to try more products from them.

So… let’s start with the products I have been using these last days, just one thing: I’m very impressed!

AVON SENSES.

If you have been reading me for a while, then you will know that I have sensitive skin, a dry in my body, and a combination of oily in my face, so I can’t use any type of product. But, after having tried their White Lily Bubble Bath, I decided to give their shower gels an opportunity, to end up loving them.

  • Secret Lagoon, shower gel.

This shower gel reminds me of pure nature, like bathing in the middle of a lush forest, full of fruit trees and delicious aromas. But the most surprising thing was its texture, the foam is rich, doesn’t dry out the skin, and after rising, it leaves the skin clean and with a natural aroma that made me fall in love.

  • Sweet & Joyful, shower cream.

It smells like a delicious citric candy, and instead of the body, the aroma permeates the entire bathroom too. The only thing I noticed in contrast with the first one, is the fact that even being a shower cream, the foam is less rich.

But even if it does not dry out the skin, I have been able to feel that noticeable difference.

FAR AWAY GLAMOUR, Perfume.

My second favorite perfume from Avon, after Far Away Infinity. Is like the deep dark version of the Infinity one, but still mysterious and elegant. I like to use it for formal events or some informal ones, but for me is absolutely not for every day and every moment.

CÉLÉBRE, Eau de cologne.

I really love this fragrance, I remember buying it because I needed an everyday light fragrance to combine with my body spray, and this just turned perfect: floral, fresh, and light.

The only thing I missed is the durability since it doesn’t last as much as I would like.

CANDY CORN LUSH LIPS BALM, Color Trend.

I know that maybe it will sound strange, but this lip balm along with the Neutrogena one, are the ones that really help me treats my lips when they are dry. And I love it even more for its smell and taste… just delicious.

FAVORITES FRAGRANCES AT THE MOMENT: LONG-LASTING & AFFORDABLE.

Saturday, November 28, 2020

First of all, welcome to the officially first post of this blog. This idea to have a personal blog where I can share with people around the world things that I love and hate about beauty industry as skincare, makeup…, have been running in my head for so long, not really knowing at all how to start properly with this, so I fell so many times, but now, I think that finally I found my own style, and now I only need to work more on it. So….let´s start!

***********

In a few days we will be officially in Christmas time, so I think that is the perfect moment to write about my actual favorites afforable fragrances.

Personally when it comes about fragrances, my favorites one are those with florals, citric, oriental, or fruity notes! I can´t say that I hate woods in perfumes (at all), but is pretty difficult to me find a nice formulation that make me change my mind. From daily fragrances, to special occasions, even if I am a vanity beauty lover/junkie, I´m that type of person who think that you don´t need to break your bank account to feel good, and smell good for hours….if you choose good. This is why, I want to share with you my affordable options!

LA CABOTINE, BY GRÉS (PARIS).

I discovered this eau de cologne at Primor, a shop where you can buy makeup, skincare products, even scented candles! They always have offers, so I decided to try two of them, and I´m so in love with both of them, specially with the gold one. They smell really good, and the packaging are the cutest!

  • The gold one, is a fragrance from the oriental floral family for womens, whose notes are: tangerine, pink pepper, melon, jasmine, Tiare flower, peony, vetiver, patchouli, and amber.

  • The Fleur Splendide, is a fragrance from the Cyprus floral family for womens, and the smell behind this creation is Mylene Alran, a young perfumer from the southeast of France. The notes of this one are: bergamot, freesia, white peach, rose, jasmine, sandalwood, patchouli, amber, and musk.

FAR AWAY, BY AVON.

In the other hand, as some friends of my mother sell this international and well knowed brand particularly famous by their perfumes, and lipsticks, I decided to try two perfumes, and I don't regret the discovery: two long-lasting perfumes with lovely sweet notes, that last for days in clothes! They are: Far away infinity, and Far away glamour, even if I love them soo much, my favorites one is the first one (blue packaging). The container of both are elegant and simple.

  • Far away infinity, the smell behind this fruity floral family fragrance is Honorine Blanc, a Lebanese perfumer, that with 16 years old went to live in France, the notes of this perfume are: gardenia, bergamot, calendula, sambac jasmine, jasmine, orange blossom of the orange tree, vanilla, sandalwood, and patchouli.

  • Far away glamour, created by Jean Marc Chaillan, Veronica Casanova, and Mackenzie Reilly, the notes of this perfume are: black currants, grapefruit, pink pepper, Madagascar vanilla, lily root, orange blossoms of the orange tree, patchouli, black musk.
