The Ordinary & similar brands!

Tuesday, October 12, 2021

Hello my readers! Today I came to complete a post that I wrote in august about some popular and affordable skin treatments (serums) that I bought to try them. I must confess that I already tried a few months ago, the vitamin C serum by Revox, and I loved it so much! It was my first time testing the brand, and that made me want to try more of their products to see how they works on my skin.

Since The Ordinary, a brand that every body in the beauty community know, there have been a few brands that have decided to imitate their philosophy: nice products with nice prices. They stand out for being minimalistic, transparent, and effective… so I decided to try some products of them….and see how they works! The Ordinary, Beauty Drops, Revox, Revolution Skincare, Truelogie, and Revuele: were the brands that living in Spain, I choose for this experiment! As you can see the list of brands and products have increased since the post I mentioned before.

The Ordinary & Beauty Drops.

I used them at the same time, as a essential part of my night skincare routine, first the Mandelic acid by The Ordinary, and then the Marula Oil by Beauty Drops…and I started to see dramatical improvements on my skin! My T zone started to be more balanced, and my blemishes more and more clear. But the most interesting thing was how the texture of my skin was improving day by day.

I was really shocked!!! I never expected to experiment such a results in a week! Since I know, and I always says that to see results in skincare you need to take your time, and let the products work for week of months depending on different factors. In my case, I decided to try them because for a long time I really wanted to try those ingredients on my skin and see how they works, plus the fact I didn’t want to introduce myself to retinol yet.

The Mandelic acid penetrates in your skin and remove the upper layers of the skin, promoting the skin cells renewal, meanwhile the Marula oil is a 100% natural thick oil rich in fatty acids that moisturize, calm, and nourish the skin: perfect combo to me.

Revox BB7 & Revuele.

Since my love for the vitamin C serum by Revox, I needed to try more products of this brand, to end more later discovering that the same enterprise/laboratory that produce Revox, is the same that produce Revuele! Now… I understand!

If you want to know specifically what I think of Revuele skincare products, I already wrote a full post in this blog: CLICK ME. By the way, about Revox skincare products, I only have nice words. The Marine Algae serum moisturizes and slightly plum the skin, even if is not the best marine algae serum on the market, is really a good one. On the other hand, the Alpha Arbutin serum, really exfoliates the skin, and refine pores, but if I had to choose among the Mandelic acid and this one, I will choose Mandelic acid by The Ordinary.

Revolution Skincare & Truelogie.

Least but not list, after all the social media aggressive marketing about Revolution Skincare, I decided to give the brand an opportunity to see what I can expect from them, so I choose the Rose Chamomile face serum, particularly created for people with sensitive skin, and having a sensitive combination to oily face skin, it was the perfect!

The only thing that I can say is that is a good serum but is not the best one you can find in the market. I really enjoy it, since is a good skin conditioner that moisturize and balance the skin.

On the other hand, Truelogie is really a nice face serum, with such an awesome ingredient list, and to me is not a surprise at all since this brand was created by one of my beloved laboratories: Niche Lab Beauty (ones of the best Spanish skincare laboratories). In the past I tried from them a CBD face serum from their line called Herbs, and it was incredible the amazing results on my skin after a few weeks using them. And now, once again, just happened the same… their products are phenomenal.

The only thing that I hate about this serum is the texture (very liquid) but using it every day I started to understand why it was designed like that: it deeply penetrates into your skin to revitalize the skin from within. In the same way, I noticed that I needed two layers of serum, a fact that I enjoyed a lot! (I’m a beauty junkie with no cure).

Having tested all this brands, I can say that in general they are nice affordable options in the skincare market, some of them are better than other, but all of them have good products. So now, no one has excuses to not start taking care of their skin, and with that, you need to remember that to see results you need to be patient and diligent, and to maintain the results, you need to keep a good skincare and body routine.

So far… favorites face skincare products: august-september 2021… under10USD! (Part 2! Final round.)

Saturday, August 28, 2021

  • Mandelic acid, by THE ORDINARY.

When I was planning to join the retinoids bus, Mandelic acid just arraived to my hands, dramatically changing my skin, and my night skincare routine! Helping me to remove dark spots, and improving (even more) my skin texture, and skin tone! I have been using it at night, just once a day, starting to see result in a week… it absolutely works!

  • Marula oil, by BEAUTY DROPS.

Is the perfect definition of a non-greasy highly rich face oil: dense but fast absorbing, deeply nourishing the skin working together with the serum. To me, is one of the best face oils I ever tried.

  • Calming and Soothing face serum, by REVOLUTION SKINCARE.

At first I was pretty skeptical with the skincare line by Revolution Beauty, but since everybody was happy trying their products, and the hype on Instagram was very high, plus the fact that they started to launch very interesting products, I decided give it a try, and… I don’t regret it!

Removing the fact that it has a very watery texture for my taste, it really leaves the skin juicy, calming, and moisturizer. I use it in the mornings, to face the day, and even helps me to control my T zone sebum production.

  • No problem washing foam, by REVUELE.

I was very amazed with this face foam! Is very gentle, it deeply cleans the skin without drying it, and the ingredient list is very decent for the price. The best part? The foam feels rich!

  • Volcanic Amazonian clay mask (anti-wrinkle), by NEW ANNA COSMETICS.

A few months ago, I bought the entire clay mask collection from this brand to check if they are really different or just a bunch of colored Kaolin (since is the only ingredient on the ingredient list) ….and then, the time to try this one just come…leaving me without words!

It calms, softens, and conditions the skin, far surpassed her sister’s moisturizing white clay mask.
