Updating my nail polish collection: amazing nail polishes for just 1E? My 2022 nail polish collection.

Wednesday, May 18, 2022

While I was thinking about the topic of the next post of this beauty blog, my mind just remembered that in 2021, I created a post about my nail polish collection, and keeping in mind that the collection still growing up (always), why not to create another post in 2022, to finally start turning this into an annual religion.

As you can guess by the title of this post, I have found some interesting brands in the Spanish nail polish market! The brand is Pink Duck, and to me, actually, it has most of the things I wish I could find when I was a teenager, particularly the nail polishes, for only 1 Euro!

The lines, the quality, and the color range are amazing, this Spanish brand just stole my hearth, and I want more nail polishes from them, but I’m taking my time. As with any nail polish, I use them with a gel topcoat (my favorite are the ones by Essie, Essence, and Clair’s), and they last on my nails one week with no problem. So, all I have to say about them are good things: nice coverage (two coats), good quality and color range, amazing lines, long-lasting, and easy to remove.

On the other hand, I bought nail polishes from Max Factor and Rimmel London, even I haven’t tried them yet, they look so sexy, particularly the one by Rimmel London (it feels like walk in high stiletto heels). Maybe this weekend will be the perfect time to put them on test.

I really can’t wait to see how this mini nail polish collection turns out, since there are so many goods ones out there calling my name and with it my wallet. Do you have any recommendations for me? I will read you in the comment section.

A lovely second opportunity with Kallos Cosmetics.

Monday, November 8, 2021

Since my horror history using the Sea Instant Hair Conditioner by Kallos Cosmetics, I never minded that I will ever buy their hair products again, but guess what? I did it! I decided to give their products a new opportunity with my hair, maybe because in Spain some famous beauty bloggers can’t stop using products from this brand, claiming that they are amazing… so for the price, why not?

This time I decided to take my time, and carefully read the ingredient list, and two products just caught my interest: the hair Pro-Tox shampoo, and the Omega hair mask. The firsts things that surprised me was the price, the size, and the ingredient list! In contrast with other products from the same brand, they were the best option.

The price of the shampoo was 2.95E (1 liter), and the main ingredients are: keratin, collagen, and hyaluronic acid. By the way the hair mask price was 2.50E (1 liter), and the main ingredients are: Omega 6 complex and macadamia oil. For the price and my last experience with the brand, I didn’t expect much, but they ended leaving my hair soft and fluffy, without any breakage, respecting my curls and hair texture… so I don´t have nothing wrong to say about them (maybe the smell, but that is personal).

Even with those prices, they have better quality than many drugstore products (including white brands), not leaving my hair greasy or matted, and looking at the ingredient list with calm, I noticed that they did it very well with the ingredients and the formula: easy formula with ingredients that works.

Shampoo key ingredients.

  • Keratin (hydrolyzed): reduce frizz and breakage, increase smoothness and elasticity, repairs and protect the hair.
  • Collagen (soluble): provides amino acids that build hair, fight hair damage from the follicles, prevent hair thinning, and slow hair graying.
  • Hyaluronic acid (Sodium hyaluronate): moisturizer, promotes collagen production, prevent hair breakage, stimulate hair growth, exfoliate dry scalp promoting softness, and strengthen weak strands.
  • Panthenol (Vitamin B5): improves hair texture, strengthen hair, and retain moisture.
  • Cocos nucifera oil: it moisturizes and seal hair, preventing dry-flaky scalp, dandruff, and hair breakage.
  • Olea Europaea oil: it conditions and promotes hair growth.
  • Coco Glucoside: it retains hair moisture to maintain a healthy scalp, preventing dry and itchy scalp (dandruff). On the other hand, it has hair softener properties.
  • Glycerin: eliminates scalp itchiness, deep conditioner, eliminates dandruff, and prevents split ends.
  • Propylene glycol: helps retain moisture (highly effective humectant).

Mask key ingredients.

  • Macadamia Ternifolia seed oil: rich in fatty acids and vitamins (strong antioxidant), it protects and rejuvenates hair, promoting hair strength and growth.
  • Borago Officinalis seed oil: rich in Omega 6 it fights dry hair, promotes blood circulation, and trat scalp irritations.
  • Cyclopentaciloxane: detangle, reduce hair frizz, and prevent breakage.
  • Propylene glycol: moisture retainer (highly effective humectant).

Must try affordable brands: discovering… Revuelve Cosmetics.

Tuesday, July 13, 2021

One thing that is absolutely true, is the fact that when we buy an expensive skincare product from a prestigious brand, we expect high quality ingredients, fast results, with a long lasting effect. But to me, what is really exciting is discover an affordable cosmetic brand whose products are really effective, being the reason why I decided to give Revuele an opportunity.

The price point of this brand is ridiculous affordable! From 1E to 3E - 5E, but what’s really freak me out was the ingredient list, and the formulation of their products: they are better than some expensives skin care products. So, once my attention was caught, I decided to buy: face serums, face foam cleansers, face toners, face masks, face moisturizers, face oil, hair remover creams, hand soap…. and I don’t regret the purchase!

  • HAIR REMOVAL CREAM. No bad smell like others, it does not sting, it leaves the skin soft and conditioned, removing every single body hair without rubbing

  • FACE CLEANSER FOAMS. They were particularly designed for people with sensitive skin, and problematic skin types. My favorite was the blue one, for being more creamy, conditioning, and gentle

  • FACE PEELING GEL. At first it looks like another gel cleanser, but once it touches the skin, in a few seconds it starts to gently dissolve all the dead skin, leaving a soft baby face. To me, it is the perfect alternative to Cure Peeling Gel, or The Ordinary Peeling Solution.

  • LAVENDER HAND LIQUID HAND SOAP. It cleans hands without drying the skin, but the fact that the main ingredient is almost at the end of the list, it disappointed me, and personally, I prefer some panthenol in the formula, for a calming effect.

  • FACE TONERS. They are really good! The ingredient list, and the formula, they really do what they claim to do. No irritation, no itchiness, no bad sensations...just nice products that balance, refresh, and plump the skin, leaving it ready for the next step.

  • FACE MASKS. Not the best one that I ever tried in my life, but actually, for the price, and the ingredient list, they are pretty good! Being my favorite, the vegan one, it smells a little bit weird, but it leaves the skin soft, calm, and plump.  By the way, the other one from the line Hemp Me, it calms the skin, but is a little bit dry for my skin, being the reason why I combine it with the first one.

  • FACE SERUMS AND MOISTURIZERS. One of my favorite skincare ingredients is hemp, so imagine my happiness when I discover that Revuele has two lines! One of them is vegan and more moisturizing than the other one, but both of them have the same concept, and the most important thing: they really works.

  1. Hemp Me: I really love this line to start the day, it is rich (+++), fresh, not greasy, and fast absorbing. These products combine the benefits of hemp seed oil and hemp extract, with other wonderful ingredients like Aloe Vera, Sweet Almond oil, and Shea Butter.

  1. CBD: is a 100% vegan skincare line that has as its main ingredients Cannabis Sativa oil, Cannabidiol, and Cannabis Sativa seed extract. The moisturizer and the serum are very rich (+++++), deeply moisturizing, and not greasy.

I personally prefer use this line at night, to wake up with a completely renovated skin. My experience with both lines is very good, having sensitive/combination to oily skin, they targeted pretty well all my problematic areas: blemishes, sebum, dryness, and texture

  • FACE OIL. Particularly formulated for sensitive-dry skin types, it only has two ingredients: olive oil and rosehip oil, perfectly infused, developing a nice lightweight product that moisturizes, and softens the skin. To me, is my second option behind the purple one by Breylee, with the difference that I prefer to use The Apothecary Soothing Elixir only at night, as my last skincare step.

  1. It really calms and repairs the skin.

  2. It is the ideal last step in a nightly facial care routine.

  3. And is no-comedogenic (won’t clog pores).

  • BODY SCRUBS. Nice smell, and soft skin, they really remove all the dead skin, but to me they aren’t enough, since I prefer more moisturizing body scrubs, like the ones by Ziaja or Farmona, that leaves my skin soft and moisturized. But, if I have to choose one, I would stay with the chocolate one, for being richer than the tropical one.

  • BODY WRAPS/MASK. My favorite is the chocolate one for its texture, and how it leaves the skin: moisturized and smooth.

FINAL THOUGHTS!

I still can’t believe all the product prices! Why? Because they really work! Good ingredients, formula, and concept. As any skincare brand has its holy grails, and its standard products, in my case, as always, I buy products based on the ingredient list, and this time, even taking in mind the ingredients list, I’ll never wait for such a decent quality

My favorites products were the CBD line, chocolate body wrap, chocolate body scrub, face peeling gel, centella asiatica face toner, coconut water face toner, and the No Problem Bioactive Complex face cleanser foam.
